Mercy9 joined Heretics this year, for Superliga's Summer Split
The 2026 Los Heretics project is starting to take shape—and once again, it brings in some very intriguing prospects. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, the Spanish organization has locked in Cengizhan "Mercy9" Teker as its midlaner for the upcoming season. The team's other option was Lee 'Pungyeon' Jong-hyuk, the Spanish Organization were close to choose Pungyeon as their starting midlaner, but they finally decided to continue with Mercy9.
Do you think Mercy9 could become one of the top prospects in EMEA?
The third piece falls into place
Fresh off their semifinal loss at the 2025 Iberian Cup against UCAM Esports—where Théo "Booshi" Mouchiroud and Erwin “Alaric” Cader filled in for Khalil “Rin” Sahraoui and Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser, both now out of contract—Los Heretics are coming off a strong year. They secured a championship in the Winter Split, followed by a string of runner-up finishes through the Summer Split, Final Four, and even EMEA Masters, where they fell 0–3 to Karmine Corp Blue.
If 2025 was already an ambitious year, 2026 looks set to raise the bar again. Baek "Mihile" Sang-hwi steps in to replace Sebastian "Tracyn" Wojtoń, who’s been promoted to the LEC roster, while Batu “Batuuu” Kaygusuz, TCL champion with MISA Esports, joins as support.
Los Heretics' reported roster for 2026:
- Top: Baek "Mihile" Sang-hwi
- Jungle: TBD
- Mid: Cengizhan "Mercy9" Teker
- ADC: TBD
- Support: Batu "Batuuu" Kaygusuz
