RED is promoting its talented Academy midlaner
Lucas Sebastian "Kaze" Fe has competed across the LRN, LRS, and CD this year— the Central America Tier 2 League, South America Tier 2 league, and Brazilian Tier 2 league, respectively — and, per Sheep Esports sources, will now play in his fourth: the LTA South. The 19-year-old Argentinian midlaner joined RED Academy only weeks before the end of the split, and helped the team snatch the trophy.
A quick rise through RED's academy team
Kaze, across eight games played at the tail end of the CD playoffs, went undefeated with an unbelievable 6.4 KDA — on eight different champions. He played everything from Zoe and Aurora to Zed and Ryze, and he was unstoppable.
He was so dominant, in fact, that two other historically dominant CBLOL teams — LOUD and Leviatan — made him offers, hoping to secure a centerpiece midlaner of their own. LOUD would've replaced Thiago "tinowns" Sartori, with whom the organization has achieved the heights of their success in the past, while Leviatan would've replaced Cristian Sebastián "cody" Quispe Yampara, a new addition to the team this year.
RED's main team in the LTA South, on the other hand, has struggled to find its footing with a midlaner all year. Daniel Xavier "Grevthar" Ferreira, who's been the team's mid laner since June 2019 (except for a one year break when he played for Vivo Keyd Stars), began splitting time with Jean Carlo "Mago" Dias. In the end, the team petered out at the very bottom of playoffs, ending 5th-6th.
Kaze is joining a team with high expectations and the onus to live up to his carry performances in the CD — RED needed stability and firepower. Kaze, in their eyes, is both.
