This will be the third consecutive year with Noah and Jun in the botlane
One of the biggest roster decisions in the LEC offseason was Yoon "Jun" Se-jun's future with GIANTX. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, after long-lasting negotiations with Fnatic, the South Korean support is eventually expected to stay with GIANTX as their support player for the 2026 season. This will mark his third consecutive year teaming with Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek in the botlane.
Right after Worlds, discussions began between the two teams—and not only because Fnatic wanted to buy out Jun. Fnatic had a player that GIANTX was interested in: Iván “Razork” Martín. Since Fnatic was pursuing Jun, talks of a trade were quickly initiated. However, this trade ultimately didn't work out. Razork was only willing to join GIANTX if Jun stayed, believing that teaming up with him would turn the roster into a genuine title contender. This condition also explains why Fnatic pushed so hard to acquire Jun—both players were eager to play together.
GIANTX received interest from other LEC teams during the offseason, including Team BDS and Natus Vincere, but no offers were made. Fnatic, however, really wanted the former player. They were aware that Jun would leave next year for mandatory military service, yet still pushed to acquire him individually without trade, and submitted a total of three proposals, with the second offer reaching €100,000 and a final bid estimated between €180,000 and €200,000, as previously reported by Sheep Esports.
Way was the alternative, but...
The third and final offer arrived on Wednesday. After long hours of internal deliberation, the sale of Jun was once again declined by GIANTX—despite Jun’s desire to play with Fnatic for his last season, with the hope of qualifying for Worlds. According to sources, GIANTX declined the offer for several strategic reasons. First, the proposal came very late in the offseason, at a time when Han “Way” Gil— a friend and former KT Rolster Challengers teammate of Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek — had already committed to Misa Esports.
GIANTX did not want to pay a buyout for a support who had never played a single game with their roster, even though they did enter discussions with his team after receiving Fnatic’s offer. Lastly, alternative support options such as Kim “Piero” Jeong-hoon and Park “Lospa” Joon-hyeong were also being considered had GIANTX agreed to the sale.
Second, the organisation believed that sending Jun to Fnatic would immediately transform Fnatic into a top contender, potentially pushing GIANTX toward the lower half of the standings. And finally, by keeping Jun and maintaining roster continuity, GIANTX believes they can realistically contest a Worlds spot next season. If the Jun move had gone through, Fnatic planned to pair him with Elias "Upset" Lipp for the botlane. But with Jun no longer an option, Fnatic will now determine their ADC choice only after securing both a support and a jungler.
The end of long discussions
The decision, therefore, aligns with GIANTX's overall strategy of roster continuity, retaining the entirety of their 2025 lineup, which includes Eren "Lot" Yıldız, Ismaïl "ISMA" Boualem, Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek, and Noah. Head Coach André "Guilhoto" Guilhoto and Assistant Coach Rúben "rhuckz" Barbosa are also set to continue with the squad into 2026.
GIANTX finished fifth in all three 2025 LEC splits, consistently missing the top four but gaining recognition from rivals for their strong scrim performances. Jun’s commitment to the team reinforces GIANTX’s intent to build upon the existing foundation to break through their current competitive ceiling in the upcoming season.
