Although 2022 didnât bring any titles, the Finnish player still played a pivotal role for Liquid, and the team yet again qualified for two international events. In 2023, TL pulled off a Grand Finals upset against a Fnatic roster that was undefeated coming into the series, qualifying to Masters: Tokyo as EMEAâs first seed. Jamppiâs performance was crucial â he earned Liquidâs highest 2.0 Rating in the final (1.16), playing a key role in the teamâs triumph.
However, Team Liquid saw extremely disappointing results this year, never even coming close to qualifying for an international tournament â and though theyâve qualified for many since, Team Liquidâs last impressive showing at an international event was a 3rd place finish at VCT Champions 2021.
BBL Esports saw similar results to Team Liquid this year, and have picked up the former CS:GO pro to help rebuild in the offseason.
Jamppi is also set to be one of BBLâs first-ever non-Turkish players â until this year, every player on BBLâs roster has matched the organizationâs nationality. Dawid â
PROFEKâ ĆwiÄÄ, whose
transfer to the organization was reported by Sheep Esports, will join
Jamppi in bucking the trend.
As BBL finalizes its roster, Sheep Esports will continue to report on the organizationâs decisions. To keep up with the offseason at large, don't forget to check out our VCT
