The EMEA Masters finalist will be joining Gentle Mates if he can't find a LEC team.
Editor's note: This deal fell through as Isma struck a deal to compete for SK Gaming in the LEC.
Jungler Ismaïl "Isma" Boualem has reached a verbal agreement with Gentle Mates for the LFL tonight, sources tell Sheep Esports. However, this agreement comes with a clause that allows the player to seek for LEC opportunities. Isma is already in discussions with one LEC team, but if no deal with any LEC team is found, he will be joining the French organization.
Gentle Mates is the latest team joining the LFL. The organization led by Squeezie, Gotaga and Brawks is currently aiming for a strong roster. They secured their first player, Jérémy "Eika" Valdenaire, yesterday.
Isma would be a very strong acquisition in the case he doesn't find an LEC team. Almost all LFL teams were interested in the French Jungler. Isma had an impressive year with Movistar Riders in Spain as his team reached the EMEA Masters finals losing to Karmine Corp with a score of 2-3.
Despite playing in the Superliga, Isma is a French resident. This greatly increases the attractiveness of the Jungler for LFL teams. Now remains to be seen if the player will manage to clinch a LEC spot this offseason. However, Gentle Mates seems like a great team to join shouldn't that be the case.
