TH makes a sudden move, 1 week before the start of the Spring Split.
Mid Laner Luka "Perkz" Perković has been benched from Team Heretics and will no longer compete in the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC), according to Sheep Esports sources. Further information reveal that the team is now aiming to promote its SuperLiga Mid Laner Artur "Zwyroo" Trojan to its main roster.
This move will represent the Spanish organization's second roster swap ahead of the Spring Split, after signing Polish Support Adrian "Trymbi" Trybus earlier this month. Per sources, these moves have been made in direct response to the TH's poor results during the Winter Split, where it ended in 7th place.
Last Minute Changes
Initially, Team Heretics didn't plan to bench Perkz in favor of Zwyroo. As shared in a recent video, the Polish midlaner was supposed to play in the Spanish league. This change was decided on Thursday following a dispute between Perkz and Team Heretics manager, according to sources. The team had already practiced in Berlin with Perkz in the roster for the Spring Split and even played scrims with him on Friday.
In light of this move, the team is now aiming to promote 25-year-old Polish midlaner Zwyroo. Having competed in professional environments since 2018, the player has recently reached the highest highs of his career. Joining Heretics in spring of 2022, Zwyroo won the SuperLiga and the EU Masters in summer of 2022, proving himself as a rookie to watch in the ERL eco-system. This year, the Polish mid laner and his team have surprised everyone in the SuperLiga, currently holding an undisputed first place with a score of 12-2 in the Spanish ERL.
At this time, it is not decided who will take over the position left by Zwyroo in the Spanish roster.
