Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition reached the semifinals of the EMEA Masters in Summer 2025
When it works, you don’t reinvent it; you build on the same foundations. Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition are keeping three players from their 2025 roster that reached the EMEA Masters Summer Split semifinals: Toplaner Felix "Fornoreason" Schummel, Jungler Aslan "White" Panglose, and AD Carry Nikolaj Asbjorn "DenVoksne" Meilby. Moreover, and unsurprisingly, Head Coach Fabian "Sheepy" Mallant will begin his thirteenth year with the club, his twelfth as head coach. This information was shared by sources to Sheep Esports.
The swedes arrive
For 2026, the German organization is signing two Swedish players. Coming from ROSSMANN Centaurs and following an EMEA Masters participation as well, midlaner Linus “RoyalKanin” Grönlund joins the team in the midlane. He will be taking the position left by midlaner Anselmi "Simpli" Rintanen. In the support position, Elton “Twiizt” Spetsig will arrive after a year with Joblife, and his first year of competition in the LFL. He also recently played for UOL during the Red Bull Gaming Garden. Former Unicorns support Daniel "seaz" Binderhofer remains in the Prime League by joining Eintracht Spandau's new competitive roster.
While the Unicorns are retaining three players, it was far from guaranteed. DenVoksne, in particular, drew significant interest from multiple ERL teams and was even considered by Team Heretics’ LEC roster. Ultimately, he chose to return to his former team—on the condition that they sign support Twiizt. Dutch support Fabian “Seal” de Lint was also considered.
A Historic Run at EMEA Masters
USE's year in the Prime League did not start in the best possible way. Still, they stuck with the same five-man roster throughout the entire season. In Winter, they finished last in their group. In Spring, they placed seventh, which was not enough to reach the playoffs. It was really in summer that the team exceeded expectations, managing to secure a fourth-place finish after an unexpected qualification to the playoffs following Agurin's team removal. This result was good enough to qualify for the EMEA Masters Last Chance Qualifier, which they successfully passed.
Their run at the main event was nothing short of incredible. After three consecutive losses against Karmine Corp Blue, Los Heretics, and Forsaken, just one defeat away from elimination, the team began an impressive remontada. They defeated Colossal Gaming, ULF Esports, Senshi eSports, and finally Partizan Sangal in Best-Of-Threes to secure a spot in the Knockout Stage. In the Round of 16, and once again one game away from elimination, USE beat GIANTX PRIDE (3-2), then eliminated Geekay Esports (3-1) in the quarterfinals. Finally, they lost against Los Heretics in the Semifinals.
Ahead of their semifinal match, questions emerged around Unicorns’ potential participation in the LEC Versus. As the only eligible non-academy team to reach the tournament’s top four, and with Los Ratones already holding a spot, the Unicorns appeared to be the natural candidate. However, after Riot Games confirmed that academy teams would be allowed to participate, Karmine Corp Blue ultimately received the invitation alongside Los Ratones, following their EMEA Masters title.
It remains to be seen if Unicorns Of Love can return to their 2025 summer form, but with the Prime League fielding multiple competitive rosters for 2026, it will be no easy feat.
