Evil Geniuses keeps jungler Sheiden for LCS 2024
Jungler Jade “Sheiden” Libut is set to continue as Evil Geniuses’ jungler for the upcoming League Championship Series (LCS) season, according to sources close to Sheep Esports.
In the 2023 LCS season, the team alternated between the two junglers, Jonathan "Armao" Armao and Jade "Sheiden" Libut. However, Sheiden is now set to be the sole remaining jungler at Evil Geniuses, with Armao reportedly moving to Immortals, as reported by Sheep Esports earlier this off-season.
First Off-Season Move
With this agreement, the Evil Geniuses are now officially beginning their efforts to secure their 2024 line-up. Per sources, the North American team is currently expected to undergo significant changes, having reportedly lost star MVP mid-laner Joseph Joon "jojopyun" Pyun to Cloud9. Additionally, the organization was recently reported to have gone through large layoffs and internal cuts.
Earlier this month, former top laner Mohamed "Revenge" Kaddoura and AD Carry William "UNF0RGIVEN" Nieminen both announced that they had been allowed to explore options going into next year. While the two players could remain with the organization, this situation could indicate a desire from EG to continue with a different set of players next year. At the time of writing this article, support player Bill "Eyla" Nguyen has not yet expressed intentions to seek other options despite his contract being set to expire at the end of the month.
A Full Shot at the LCS
Sheiden is gearing up for his first full year in the LCS this upcoming season. In the 2023 season, he competed against Armao for a chance to play for EG’s LCS squad. Having previously moved in and out of the NACL, Sheiden is now set to be granted a full opportunity to prove himself at a professional level.
The Canadian jungler Sheiden has long been regarded as a highly promising talent in both Solo queue and tier 2 leagues. Consistently delivering strong performances, fans should be optimistic as this marks the first time he will have the ability to show off his skills in a full split, presenting an opportunity for him to make a lasting impact on the North American League of Legends scene.
