deokdam experienced the biggest rise in level of play in 2025
After an eventful 2025 that saw him go from an early-season benching to reaching the World Championship final, Seo "deokdam" Dae-gil is set to join DN Freecs for the upcoming 2026 LCK season, as announced by the team on Thursday. He is part of the big shuffle of AD Carries in the LCK during this offseason, while Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong and Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan are already on the move, with more transfers expected according to our information.
After a stellar end to the 2025 season, can deokdam make DN Freecs competitive again?
The Korean AD carry experienced one of the most unpredictable years of his career. Returning to the LCK with KT Rolster last winter, deokdam struggled to find his footing early on and was temporarily benched in favor of Park "Paduck" Seok-hyeon for a few best-of-threes.
But over the course of the year, his form steadily improved, culminating in a spectacular performance at Worlds 2025. There, he emerged as one of the tournament’s standout players, leading KT on a remarkable run to the grand final—where they fell 2–3 to T1 after toppling Gen.G in one of the biggest upsets in recent Worlds history.
A new chapter for DN Freecs
Now, deokdam is taking on a new challenge with DN Freecs, as the organization looks to build its most ambitious project in years. Alongside securing the star botlaner, DN Freecs are expected to sign a well-known support to reunite a duo that already proved its potential both in the LCK and on the international stage.
This marks a bold step for a team long mired in struggle. DN Freecs have endured several difficult seasons, finishing 2025 at the bottom of the table with a 4–26 record. The organization’s last podium dates all the way back to 2018, during their Afreeca Freecs era featuring Kim "Kiin" Gi-in and Lee "Kuro" Seo-haeng.
With deokdam’s arrival and further reinforcements on the horizon, DN Freecs aim to finally turn the page—hoping 2026 will mark the rebirth of a once-promising franchise in the LCK.
