Dan Dan will be the first head coach to remain more than a year with Solary since Jon (2021-2022)
Danny “Dan Dan” Le Comte will remain Head Coach of Solary for the upcoming 2026 LFL season, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. According to our information, the team had also contacted Víctor “Machuki” Segura, now former Head Coach of Team Heretics in the LEC, but the Spanish coach declined to join the French team.
The French organization has thereofre opted for continuity at the helm of its League of Legends project. Romain “Caelan” Albesa, Solary’s general manager, mentioned several times on stream that Dan Dan had been part of the club’s long-term plans from the start — his contract already running until the end of 2026. However, the final decision was up to the coach himself, and he has chosen to stay.
Arriving in late 2024, the former Misfits Gaming toplaner and European Masters 2019 champion was tasked with reinventing Solary’s approach to competition after several underwhelming years. Despite falling short of reaching the EMEA Masters this yeaar again, Solary’s 2025 season showed flashes of promise: tighter coordination, stronger early games, and a distinct sense of identity both in and outside the game.
A season of foundations and lessons
In Sheep Esports interview conducted before Solary’s elimination last summer, Dan Dan acknowledged both the team’s progress and the cost of their work ethic. “By starting a month earlier than everyone else, we work harder, but we also get closer to burnout,” he admitted, referring to the long grind of a year now split into three seasons. "You have to learn to manage that, to give yourself breaks even in the middle of a split, to keep a good level without burning out."
The Dutch coach emphasized the discipline required to close games and turn preparation into results. "When you have a gold lead, you feel like everything is easier and you can try anything. But in reality, nothing changes: you have to play the same way as if the game were even," he explained. "As a coach, I can’t click for them. All I can do is remind them: you have the mouse and the keyboard; you have to press the right buttons."
The Solary project continues
For Solary, keeping Dan Dan means betting on stability and maturity, two traits the organization has often lacked in its numerous rebuilds since joining the LFL in 2019. Indeed, this is the first time since Jonathan "just jon" Ellis that a head coach stays more than a year within the organization. While no information regarding the 2026 roster is yet confirmed, the goal will clearly be to aim higher.
After 15 splits in the LFL since its creation, Solary is currently reflecting on the past year as they aim for their first-ever EMEA Masters qualification. As a reminder, they finished third in the Flash In split at the very start of the year, their best result in LFL history. But after a tough seventh place in Spring and a fifth place in Summer, which took a mental toll on Solary—as seen in the reactions of their midlaner Nicolas "Decay" Gawron on social media—the team will need to rebuild on solid foundations.
