After enduring one of their darkest seasons in 2025, DN Freecs are gearing up for a major comeback in the 2026 LCK season. The team is acquiring the high-profile signing of star midlaner Lee "Clozer" Ju-hyun, marking a cornerstone of their ambitious offseason rebuild.

This move follows the recent acquisition of KT Rolster 2025’s botlane, Seo "deokdam" Dae-gil and Jeong "Peter" Yoon-su, as well as toplaner Lee "DuDu" Dong-ju, who re-signed with the team. There is also movement in the coaching staff. They welcome the veteran assistant coach Yu "Ggoong" Byeong-jun, and Kim "Millimas" Geon-woo (strategy analyst), signaling DN Freecs' intent to break free of their recent struggles.

Clozer’s arrival heralds a new chapter for a team that wrapped up 2025 at the bottom of the standings with a 4–26 record, their worst performance since the franchise's inception. Once a promising organization with a podium finish as Afreeca Freecs in 2018, DN Freecs has struggled to regain its footing in recent years. The addition of Clozer brings hope for a resurgence.

Clozer’s journey began in 2019 with T1 Rookies, stepping into the pro scene as a successor to the legendary Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok with T1 in 2020. Since then, he has proven himself as one of the most mechanically gifted midlaners in the LCK through stints with BNK FearX and OK BRION. Known for his aggressive, fearless playstyle and ability to excel on both AD and AP champions, Clozer adds a dynamic threat in lane and teamfights. While sometimes rated just below the top echelon of midlaners due to nuances in vision control and precision, he remains widely recognized for his potential to rise among the elite.

According to South Korean medias, Clozer attracted interest from multiple domestic and international teams this offseason. Ultimately, however, he chose DN Freecs, joining as a free agent to become the face of their roster overhaul. Along with bringing back seasoned coaching staff and reinforcing the team’s strategic core, DN Freecs are looking to build a competitive and ambitious squad for 2026.
