“KC and I made good use of the break, and maybe something will happen soon,” said
last March in an interview
with French outlet L’Équipe, when asked about a potential contract extension with
. The player was not misleading. According to
Sheep Esports sources, the French AD Carry has indeed reached a verbal agreement to extend his deal with the French organization by two years, through the end of 2028. Originally signed in October 2023, his current contract was set to expire in November 2026, according to
the Global Contract Database.
To continue a legacy with KC
Per sources,
was also interested in the player. However, Caliste will remain with Karmine Corp and will therefore continue to consolidate his status as a franchise player. Initially brought in following Karmine Corp’s disappointing 9th-place finish in the 2023 LFL Spring Split, he has since become the longest-serving member of the roster. He has also emerged as both a symbol and a driving force behind the organization’s resurgence. Coming from the French Division 2 and not particularly expected to make an immediate impact in the 2023 LFL Summer Split, Caliste quickly convinced observers.
His arrival fundamentally transformed the team’s trajectory. Largely due to his mechanical prowess and willingness to take on responsibilities few anticipated, Karmine Corp surged to the top of the French league standings and ultimately secured the LFL Summer title. Caliste himself was named MVP of the split. Yet the French AD Carry did not stop there. A few weeks later, he also claimed the inaugural edition of the EMEA Masters, in which he participated.
A Year of Waiting
The timing of his rapid rise proved fortuitous, as Karmine Corp was simultaneously finalizing negotiations to acquire Astralis’ LEC slot. The path to the top tier seemed clear for Caliste. Yet, it was abruptly halted. A new rule introduced by the league in 2024 prohibited underage players from competing, forcing the then 17-year-old to remain in the LFL for another year. It was a season of enforced patience, but also one of further development—and another LFL title added to his résumé.
On August 28, 2024, Caliste turned 18, and the doors to the EMEA elite finally opened to him. There, the French AD Carry resumed his upward trajectory. As he had done in both the LFL and the EMEA Masters two years prior, Caliste claimed the title at his first attempt. He and Karmine Corp secured qualification for their first international event, the First Stand. Despite occasional turbulence, the prodigy’s sustained success carried the team to the final—Europe’s first international final since G2 Esports’ loss at the 2019 World Championship.
Rookie of the Year
This time, however, the challenge proved too great. Against Hanwha Life Esports, Karmine Corp only managed to compete in the opening game before losing the next three. Caliste’s remarkable unbeaten run at his first competition appearance came to an end. Remaining among the top players in his role for the rest of the year, he nevertheless experienced the consequences of internal issues within the team, as Karmine Corp missed subsequent international events—most notably falling short against Fnatic in a decisive match for Worlds qualification.
The AD Carry was still named Rookie of the Year, ahead of
, who also delivered an outstanding season with G2. His 2026 campaign has, so far, been strong. His partnership with
has established one of the most formidable botlanes in the West. Although Karmine Corp fell in the final of the LEC Versus and did not return to the First Stand this year, Caliste’s absence from the remaining international events of the season would come as a surprise. The player’s ambitions, however, extend further still: a world title, to transform the prince of Karmine Corp into the world king.
Note that with this move, Karmine Corp join Team Heretics, who already have AD Carry Byeon "Hype" Jeong-hyeon locked in, as the only two teams with their AD Carry secured for next year. Every other AD Carry in the LEC is currently set to become a free agent at the end of 2026.
