Berserker is back in LCS
AD carry Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol will join LYON in the LCS next season, sources tell Sheep Esports. Berserker joins the ambitious project of the Mexican organization, which has already been significantly strengthened by the arrival of Kacper "Inspired" Słoma, as previously reported by Sheep Esports. During the offseason, the Berserker was considered by various LEC and LCS teams, including Team Heretics.
Among LYON’s options was Park “Teddy” Jin-seong, but they eventually ended up with Berserker in the botlane. After a failed year with DN Freecs for his return to the LCK, Berserker is backtracking and returning to the LCS, a year after leaving North America. LYON secures a significant boost with a player who won the league twice during his first stint. Before locking Berserker, the team also considered AD Carry Park "Teddy" Jin-seong.
LYON on solid foundations
LYON continues to surprise during this offseason. While the team is coming off a mediocre year in terms of results, the team's recruitment has left everyone surprised. After finishing in the bottom spots during all three splits of LTA North, LYON parted ways with almost their entire roster except for Kang "Saint" Seong-in, whom the team absolutely wanted to keep.
Following that, the team took everyone by surprise by bolstering their ranks with last year's LTA player of the year in Inspired. A project that already looked attractive now adds Berserker, a league veteran who won two trophies in three years with Cloud9 and qualified for Worlds twice. He will succeed another Korean AD Carry as Park "Hena" Jeung-hwan who played for the team last year parted ways with LYON.
A failed return
After those three years in the LCS, the Korean AD Carry attempted a return home to the LCK in the DN Freecs project. After a disappointing LCK Cup, DNF finished the first phase of the LCK Season at 1-17, ranking them last in Korea and sendiing them to the Rise Group. Even with more accessible teams, the team was the first to be eliminated from the Worlds race and finished the year with only four BO3s won to twenty-six lost.
Formerly the AD Carry of T1 Academy, Berserker missed the opportunity to make a significant return to his region. A year after his return, he is therefore leaving LCK again and heading back to LCS where he had reached his best individual level. He will try to reconquer the region in the new project of a team that already looks promising and among the title contenders.
