On Monday evening, the four teams of twelve players who will make up the
SoloQ Challenge Battle were drafted on the Twitch channel of the event's organiser, Jean âTraytonâ Medzadourian. The streamer also revealed the creation of a
comprehensive website to track the progress of the challenge, which will finally kick off at noon on 4 September.
In fact, each account loaned to players for the challenge requires ten unranked games to be completed before the ascent can begin, which prompted Trayton to delay the start of his event by one day. Before the start of the drafts, the caster from OTP also announced the surprise of the challenge: Lucas âSakenâ Fayard, Karmine Corp legend, will be the 48th and final participant.
The story couldn't be better, as the midlaner coming off two failed splits in the LEC will be playing for his CEO Kamel âKametoâ Kebir's team alongside former teammate Caliste âCalisteâ Henry-Hennebert. The founder of Karmine Corp had indeed the first choice when the teams were formed, to compensate in a way for his probably lower level - which he is not scared to admit - than the other captains. Naturally, he was quick to lay his hands
on his KCB prodigy, who has repeatedly reached rank 1 in SoloQ since last year.
The draw for the order of picks then delivered its verdict, and it was respectively CĂ©sar âWakzâ Hugues and Trayton who took precedence over Dylan âTikyâ Sorrentino. The Solary founder's choice fell logically on
the EMEA Masters champion and winner of the last edition of the challenge, Rudy âSkewMondâ Semaan. The event organiser, on the other hand, opted for
former SK Gaming AD Carry Thomas âExakickâ Foucou, who is also a good friend of his and often appears on his streams. Finally, Tiky decided to go for Vincent âVetheoâ BerriĂ©, Vitality's midlaner in this year's LEC and runner-up to Skewmond in last year's challenge.
