Job posting hints at a new VALORANT-universe FPS
Riot Games appears to be recruiting for an unannounced first-person shooter tied to the VALORANT IP. A new job listing for an Associate Art Director in 3D Character Art on the Riot Games careers website describes an “unpublished R&D product”, with responsibilities including defining the character art vision, leading a team, and producing stylized assets spanning humans, creatures, props, and clothing, all of which are classic indicators that a project is transitioning from prototyping to production.
Initially identified by The Game Post, the listing referenced the FPS genre and familiarity with the VALORANT IP. Shortly after this article was published, Riot updated the listing to remove these references, a common occurrence when a studio is trying to keep an unannounced title under wraps. Nevertheless, the remaining description still reads like a mandate for a shooter team to develop playable characters and gear while preserving gameplay readability for competitive play.
Rumors hint at a VALORANT-adjacent MMOFPS
This is not the first suggestion of a second VALORANT-adjacent shooter. Separate reporting and social media posts have alluded to an internal MMOFPS informally dubbed “Project T” including an alleged early screenshot, though none of this has been officially acknowledged by Riot and should be treated cautiously. What is verifiable is Riot’s continued R&D hiring across art and engineering for “unpublished” products, consistent with a company incubating multiple prototypes in parallel.

One important clarification: this role does not appear to concern VALORANT Mobile. That project was announced years ago, co-developed with Lightspeed, and launched first in China on August 19, 2025, following tens of millions of pre-registrations. The timing and the co-development arrangement indicate a separate track from the Los Angeles–based R&D position highlighted here.
