English Release is close
As the English release of Riftbound is near, the community around Riot Games’ League of Legends-based trading card game is beginning to get a clearer sense of the growing speculation around card prices. Whether on eBay or specialized TCG marketplaces, many of the rarest signed cards from the first set, Origins, are already exceeding $1,000 or even $2,000, often thanks to a perfect grade of 10. All of these cards are, of course, in Chinese, as Riftbound is currently only available in China, at least until its worldwide launch on October 31.
A prize for the winners of Open tournament
It’s therefore no surprise that a Chinese card recently made headlines across TCG-focused social media accounts, after a Prestige Select Battle Bunny Miss Fortune sold for nearly ¥65,000 RMB, roughly $9,000 USD. The card, inspired by a Wild Rift-exclusive skin, is part of a special series of four cards designed for the four inaugural Riftbound tournaments held in China. This particular copy, awarded during the Hangzhou event, was auctioned off on Xianyu, a Chinese resale platform, for what has now become a record price for Riot Games’ new trading card game.
These four cards were given as prizes to the winners of the four Regional Opens: Guangzhou (August 23–24), Beijing (August 30–31), Chongqing (September 6–7), and finally Hangzhou (September 13–14). Notably, it seems this wasn’t the only tournament winner to put their prize up for sale, since the Chinese player FoxSad also listed their trophy on Taobao, a major Chinese resale platform, for ¥188,888 RMB ... over than $26,000 USD. According to information obtained by Sheep Esports, the sale is still ongoing.
Players worldwide now have only a few more days to wait before the launch of Origins, the first set of Riftbound, followed a few months later by Spiritforged, the second expansion based on the League of Legends universe. The gap between Chinese and global releases is expected to narrow over time, according to Riot Games, which has already revealed its multi-year release schedule.

For its Riftbound competitive circuit, Riot Games has unveiled a full structure leading up to a World Championship in 2027. The circuit will kick off with in-store Origins Release Events, followed by weekly local gatherings called Nexus Nights aimed at fostering the amateur scene. Players will then be able to compete in Summoner Skirmishes, which offer exclusive rewards and entry benefits for the open Regional Qualifiers. The top performers from these will advance to the Regional Championships, the first major milestone in the circuit, awarding both cash prizes and qualification spots for the 2027 World Championship.
