Riftbound, the TCG inspired by the
League of Legends universe, was officially launched in China on Friday, August 1st. Alongside the release, a few additional card images were revealed, showcasing new details and adding depth to previously known designs. This launch follows a wave of information recently shared by Riot Games regarding the upcoming
English version, set to release on October 31st. After months of anticipation and heavy teasing from Riot Games, the first
Riftbound cards have finally been made available to the public this Friday. Currently only available in China, the āOriginsā set is the very first collection of the TCG to be released. Although itās coming out nearly three months before the English version, this release gap is expected to shrink with the upcoming sets (you can find their release dates here). Starting in 2026, the rest of the world should be able to discover new
League of Legends characters and fresh artwork from talented illustrators at the same time as China.
This first set features 377 unique cards, covering nearly
40 different LoL champions, spells, and pieces of Runeterra lore reimagined for the TCG format. Among these 300+ cards,
the rarest ones are the Overnumbered, ultra-exclusive designs that are highly sought after by collectors of Riot Gamesā card game. For even more exclusivity,
these cards can be signed by their original illustratorsāin which case, Riot Games estimates you'd need to open about 360 boosters to pull one.
As for the global rollout, the English version will release on October 31st in most regions, including Europe, the Middle East, North, Central, and South America, as well as Oceania. Looking ahead, Riot Games has announced that between 2026 and 2027, around eight more sets are planned, which will deepen the competitive meta and lead players to the
World Championship in late 2027.
