The post quickly drew attention across the
League of Legends community. Ronaldo's behaviour had already been the subject of criticism for some time, with several players accusing him of stream sniping opponents before targeting their comfort picks in Champion Select after previously facing them on the ladder.

Several users reported the situation to Riot Games' Drew Levin, whom players have grown accustomed to tagging whenever they encounter issues in solo queue or wish to report particularly poor behaviour. It did not take long for Riot to respond. During the night between Thursday and Friday, Levin replied directly to Ronaldo's post. After review, the Romanian player was ultimately caught by the VAR.
Following an internal investigation, Riot Games concluded that the allegations against Ronaldo were substantiated. He was found guilty of stream sniping and handed multiple penalties. First, his account has been suspended for two weeks. In addition, all of the LP he accumulated to reach Rank 1 will be removed, meaning he will return to the ladder at Master 0 LP once the suspension expires. Finally, he will not receive any Ranked rewards for the season that has just concluded.
Riot Games' Creator Code of Conduct explicitly states in its third section that "Stream sniping is explicitly against our rules and players who do so may be penalized." As always, players are encouraged to compete fairly and respect the game's code of conduct to avoid similar sanctions in the future.
