Who will be the best Support of the competition?
This Sunday marks the conclusion of the 2025 League of Legends Worlds with a historic final showcasing one of the greatest rivalries in esports history: the reigning two-time world champions T1 facing off against KT Rolster. Ahead of the most significant Telecom War ever played, Sheep Esports is publishing a daily spotlight on the upcoming matchups. This Wednesday, our series continues with a look at the support role duel between Ryu "Keria" Min-seok and Jeong "Peter" Yoon-su.
Two of the most impactful supports in the world are set to collide — one chasing a third consecutive World Championship, the other aiming for his first-ever title. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and few matchups carry as much excitement heading into the Worlds 2025 final.
Peter: From Unknown to World-Class
2025 has been nothing short of a breakout year for Peter. After bouncing between the LCK and LCKCL with Nongshim RedForce, the Korean support joined KT Challengers earlier this year. His performance was immediately impressive, earning him a quick promotion to the main roster alongside Seo “deokdam” Dae-gil. From there, Peter’s growth was meteoric — evolving into one of KT’s primary playmakers thanks to his fearless, high-tempo style.
Since the start of Worlds, his rise has only accelerated. Competing internationally for the first time in his career, Peter has shown no signs of cracking under pressure — quite the opposite. The KT support has been dominant throughout the tournament, particularly during the playoffs. In KT’s 3–0 sweep over CFO, Peter posted a KDA of 3/11/54, showcasing his command of tanky initiators like Nautilus, Braum, and his most-played champion of the year, Alistar. His performance earned him the LoL Esports MVP of the series — a well-deserved honor.
He followed up with another standout showing against Gen.G (3–1), this time displaying versatility with picks such as Renata, Lulu, and Neeko. While Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong claimed MVP after a historic series (and the first-ever 10/10 rating in Sheep Esports’ player grades), Peter was undeniably the runner-up — holding his own against the world’s best team of the year.
Now, heading into his first-ever international final, Peter stands as one of the standout players of Worlds 2025 — and arguably the best support of the tournament… at least until he faces the final boss.
Peter’s 2025 Champion Pool:
- Alistar – 27 games: 17W / 10L
- Leona – 22 games: 10W / 12L
- Rakan – 15 games: 9W / 6L
- Neeko – 14 games: 11W / 3L
- Nautilus – 11 games: 7W / 4L
Keria: The Genius Monster Hunts for a Third Crown
Keria’s 2025 campaign has been a good one. The two-time world champion once again served as one of T1’s cornerstones, particularly throughout the regular season alongside jungler Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun. He finished second in Player of the Match points, trailing only Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon. Although T1’s playoff run proved a little more turbulent and Keria’s performances dropped a bit.
Since Worlds began, however, the “Genius Monster” has returned to a better form — much like the rest of T1’s roster. His creativity remains impressive, producing moments of brilliance like his Neeko ultimate against Anyone’s Legend. Though expectations around his play are sky-high, Keria continues to deliver — crafting opportunities seemingly out of thin air and maintaining his trademark unpredictability.
Another major part of his strength lies in his enormous champion pool. While Peter has played six different champions during Worlds, Keria has already fielded nine unique picks. His iconic Bard remains a near-permanent ban against T1, a testament to how much opponents fear his comfort picks — and to how T1 weaponizes those bans to their advantage in draft.
That said, Keria’s champion choices in 2025 have been slightly tamer than in years past. Gone are the surprise Caitlyn, Rumble, or Ashe supports that once defined his experimental style. His current pool leans more conventional, which may make T1’s drafts a touch more predictable than in their most chaotic glory days.
Keria’s 2025 Champion Pool:
- Rakan – 21 games: 14W / 7L
- Neeko – 18 games: 10W / 8L
- Alistar – 16 games: 11W / 5L
- Poppy – 16 games: 11W / 5L
- Bard – 14 games: 10W / 4L
