KT Rolster and Bdd reach first Worlds final, Gen.G and Chovy fall in semis for the second year in a row
November 1st, 2025 — a date to remember. KT Rolster have taken down the giant Gen.G and secured their spot in the 2025 World Championship Grand Final. After four intense games in a completely insane series, KT managed to overcome the team that won the LCK, the Mid-Season Invitational, the Esports World Cup, and broke the record for the most consecutive wins in League's history.
Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon falls once again — his third Worlds semifinal defeat — and will have to postpone his dream for another year. This time, it’s Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong's dream that continues to soar, reaching higher and higher toward the gods of League of Legends.
The story of this KT roster is absolutely incredible: an experienced mid-jungle duo that had never reached the top despite their immense talent, and three other players who were subbed out and brought back mid-season when the team was struggling. Today, they stand on top of the world.
The beauty of League of Legends
Statistically, considering their performance throughout the year, their head-to-head matchups, and the level they displayed overall, this series feels like an anomaly that wasn’t supposed to happen. Lee “PerfecT” Seung-min was so heavily criticized in the LCK that many considered him the worst toplaner in the league; he had even been temporarily replaced by Shin “Casting” Min-je. On the botlane, KT started the year with Han “Way” Gil before giving Jeong “Peter” Yoon-su his chance, while Park “Paduck” Seok-hyeon had taken the spot of Seo “deokdam” Dae-gil.
Yet these three players just delivered several consecutive BOs of incredible quality. PerfecT completely dominated Kim “Kiin” Gi-in, while Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, considered the best AD Carry in the world, was outplayed by Deokdam. And Joo “Duro” Min-kyu, the year’s breakout support, couldn’t stand up to Peter, who was still an unknown on the scene just a few months ago.
Bdd, Lord of the rift
The biggest key to the BO was the mid-jungle duos. Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu and Chovy were unrecognizable, completely outclassed by Cuzz and Bdd. In Game 1, early on, Cuzz ganked with Jarvan IV—Chovy flashed out and still died, while KT kept their summoner spells. Even in the game Gen.G won, Chovy’s Galio performance wasn't spectacular as always on the champion. In Game 3 on Orianna, he let Azir open for Bdd and was completely outmatched—solo kills, teamfights, laning phase—Bdd was masterful on the Emperor of Shurima.
To close out the series in Game 4, Chovy’s Anivia had very little impact, while Bdd on Cassiopeia was outstanding. The entire BO was in KT’s favor across all roles. From doubting whether their roster could even beat BNK FearX to qualifying for the Worlds Final, they’ve come a long way.
