The Chiefs hold the longest game win streak in League of Legends with 26, while Gen.G hold the longest series win streak with 27
Chiefs Esports Club won 26 games in a row without dropping a single match between June 6 and September 4 of 2022. The streak began on the opening day of Split 2, where they went 21-0 in the regular season, sweeping every team in the league three times. In playoffs, they dismantled ORDER 3-0, then pushed through Pentanet.GG in the grand final, only conceding a single game in a 3-1 victory. The Chiefs came within touching distance of completing a perfect split — a feat never before achieved in Oceania.
Founded in 2014, the Chiefs have been a powerhouse of the Oceanic League of Legends. Across the LCO (and its predecessor, the OPL), the organization has collected seven domestic titles: 2015 Split 1, 2015 Split 2, 2016 Split 1, 2016 Split 2, 2022 Split 2, 2023 Split 1, and 2023 Split 2.
Gen.G’s 27-Series Streak
Gen.G has the record of series won in a row, 27, across the LCK and MSI 2025. A series ended by T1 in the 2025 LCK regular season. The run began after their loss to Hanwha Life Esports in the LCK Cup final and lasted five months without a single defeat. During this period, Gen.G swept through Korea’s toughest competition and dominated internationally, winning 21 best-of-threes and six best-of-fives, before being defeated by T1 during the LCK regular season.
Few teams in history have sustained such consistency in the most competitive league in the world. Their record broke the previous mark set by T1 in 2022, when Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok’s squad had strung together 26 straight series victories. By surpassing their biggest domestic rival’s historic record, Gen.G further cemented themselves as one of the greatest rosters ever assembled.
Two Records, Two Fates
Although the Chiefs collected multiple domestic titles, the organization also went through long droughts — most notably during the Dire Wolves’ reign of dominance in 2017 and 2018. But with the dissolution of the Oceanic league and the creation of the League of Champions Pacific (LCP), the new major competition for all of Southeast Asia, the Chiefs failed to carry their region’s banner. In the league’s inaugural year in 2025, the team did not win a single series, setting the unfortunate record of 0-18 across the season.
Gen.G’s situation, far more familiar to the global audience, is a complete contrast. After acquiring Samsung Galaxy’s World Championship-winning roster and LCK slot at the end of 2017, the organization inherited the legacy of a two-time world champion. Yet achieving a streak of such dominance was far more difficult in practice. The LCK is the most stacked league in the world, and staying competitive at the top for months on end is a challenge few teams ever overcome.
Frequently near the top of the standings, Gen.G reached new heights in 2022 with the arrival of Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon. From Summer 2022 through Spring 2024, they claimed four consecutive LCK titles, followed by back-to-back MSI championships in 2024 and 2025. That second MSI victory was part of their legendary win streak — further proof that this five-man lineup may be one of the greatest rosters in the history of League of Legends.
