The 2025 edition is the event’s third since 2023
Red Bull has announced the return of its annual event, League of Its Own, set to take place on November 29 at the SAP Garden in Munich. The tournament will feature five teams: five-time world champions T1, LEC Summer Split champions G2 Esports, Marc "Caedrel" Lamont’s streamer team Los Ratones, the German side No Need Orga, and the French organization of streamer Kamel "Kameto" Kebir, Karmine Corp.
This will be the third edition of the Red Bull League of Its Own. The first took place in 2023 at the Velodrom in Berlin, featuring T1, G2, KC, NNO, Team Heretics, Eintracht Spandau, and Berlin International Gaming, with T1 facing and defeating all teams except G2. Each edition introduces fun concepts to spice up the evening — in 2023, for example, T1 was locked out of all champions that had been picked in their matches.
The event then moved to France in 2024 at the Accor Arena in Paris, where, in addition to the regular matches, three 1v1 duels were held between pro players and French streamers. For the 2025 edition, details are yet to be revealed, but Red Bull is expected to bring new twists later on.
A packed schedule
The schedule is incredibly packed and tough to handle for teams that attend every international event, such as T1 or G2. T1, for instance, played the LCK Round 1-2 and the “Road to MSI” from early April to mid-June, then went straight into the Mid-Season Invitational until mid-July, where they reached the final in Vancouver.
They followed that with the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, which they also played through to the very last day of competition, before returning to South Korea only three days later to begin Rounds 3-5 and the LCK playoffs from July 23 to late September. Next up, they’ll compete at Worlds in China from October 14 to November 9, before heading to the Red Bull League of Its Own at the end of the month. The same goes for G2, who have also played both international tournaments, the LEC Summer Split, and will now be competing at Worlds.
