Rekkles is back playing in the LEC after two and a half years
Martin "Rekkles" Larsson spoke on Monday through his X account about the past few years, his 2025 run with Los Ratones, and what 2026 may look like for him. The Swedish support confirmed that he will indeed be part of the LEC Versus event, the LEC’s 2026 kickoff tournament, which will feature the ten LEC teams alongside Los Ratones and the champions of the EMEA Masters Summer Split.
Rekkles first looked back on the difficult stretch he experienced between 2021 and 2023, followed by the year he spent in South Korea with T1 Academy in 2024, and how that eventually led to his need to return to Europe, closer to home — something Los Ratones made possible. The team went on to win nearly everything: back-to-back EMEA Masters titles and three NLC championships.
However, Rekkles also noted that the journey wasn’t perfect, stating: "Towards the end some of the more positive spirit started to disappear, and this is something we need to discuss as a group, how to make it better moving forward."
Back in the LEC
It has been two and a half years since Rekkles last appeared on the LEC stage, with his most recent showing dating back to the 2023 Spring Split with Fnatic, where the team finished eighth. He will now return to the LEC with Los Ratones after winning everything in the ERLs, though only for a single split.
He’s not the only one on the roster to speak about the future — his toplaner and fellow Swede, Simon "Baus" Hofverberg, has also discussed his plans, stating that he does not intend to abandon his streaming career in order to continue as a full-time pro player, though nothing is set in stone yet.
What happens after the Winter Split is still unclear for the 29-year-old support, as he stated: “What comes afterwards will depend on how the team develops and what opportunities come up, but my commitment is to give everything I can to Los Ratones and succeeding together.”
For now, Rekkles will continue costreaming the remainder of Worlds 2025, with quarterfinals resuming on Tuesday, October 28. He will then take some time off before returning ahead of the 2026 season.
