JD Gaming and Lou â
MISSINGâ Yunfeng are extending their journey together. The support's contract, which
had expired on November 19, 2024, has been renewed for another year, keeping him with the team until November 2025. MISSINGâs story with JDG began on the perfect note when he joined the organization for the 2022 season, clinching
the first LPL title of his career in the Summer Split. Though already a notable player in the Chinese league during his three prior seasons with Team WE, Missingâs move to JDG cemented his status as one of the league's top-tier supports.
He earned a spot on the 3rd All-Pro Team in Spring 2022 and elevated to the 2nd All-Pro Team by Summer. However, it was the 2023 season that catapulted him to the global stage. Teaming up with Park âRulerâ Jae-hyuk, MISSING formed what many considered the best botlane in the world that year. JDG dominated, winning both LPL splits and the MSI. MISSING was consistently ranked the best support in each competition, according to Sheep Stats. The team seemed destined to complete the first Golden Road in League of Legends history but fell short in the semifinals of Worlds, losing to T1 in a match widely regarded as the true grand final.
In contrast, 2024 was a less triumphant year for MISSING and JDG. Despite retaining their botlane duo, the departures of solo laners Bai â369â Jiahao and Zhuo âknightâ Ding had a noticeable impact on the teamâs performance. JD Gaming relinquished their throne to Bilibili Gaming, the new knight's team. JDG finished third in the Spring Split and dropped to a disappointing 7th place in the Summer Split.
Individually, MISSING remained among the leagueâs top supports. Despite roster changes on the horizonâ
Hu "Ale" Jiale joined the team last Sunday and
Ruler has already been confirmed to return to Gen.Gâunsurprisingly, JDG have opted to retain MISSING as a cornerstone of their lineup.
