Mew comes back to the Swiss organization after a year with GIANTX VCT and LEC's staffs
On December 15, GIANTX announced the departure of Théo "Mew" Ponzoni. Five days later, Mew joins Shifters as part of their coaching staff, as announced by the organization on Saturday. While GIANTX had offered him the chance to re-sign, Mew ultimately decided to move to the Swiss organization.
In this new chapter, Mew reunites with the organization where his coaching journey first gained momentum. The 27-year-old French performance coach previously worked with the Swiss team — then known as Team BDS — across their LFL, Division 2, and Rocket League rosters between 2020 and 2022, achieving notable success along the way.
With GIANTX in 2025, Mew reached the finals of VCT Split 2 and helped the team qualify for Champions, marking one of the most successful seasons in the organization’s history. He now joins Shifters’ coaching staff, where he is expected to support both their VCT and LEC rosters, just as he did at GX.
Having already won an RLCS World Championship and reached two LAN finals with Team BDS in Rocket League, Mew returns to a familiar home looking to bring his high-performance expertise back to a known environment — one that’s eager to rise again under its new identity.
Shifters' changes are over
With his help team, Shifters hope to have a better year than last year. Despite an ambitious project, the team couldn't do better than a 5th-6th place in the winter split. Ice, who was having an extraordinary season in 2024, saw his performances decline throughout this season and ultimately left the team. Paduck will have the difficult task of following his compatriot, surrounded by a new team.
Team BDS's 2026 reported roster:
- Toplane: Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan
- Jungle: Mehdi "Boukada" Lahlou
- Midlane: Ilias "nuc" Bizriken
- AD Carry: Park "Paduck" Seok-hyeon
- Support: Adrian "Trymbi" Trybus
- Head Coach: Yanis "Striker" Kella
- Performance Coach: Théo "Mew" Ponzoni
