Cho “
Mata” Se-hyeong, one of the most renowned supports in
League of Legends history, who now officiates as a coach, has found his team for next year. Indeed, the World Champions
T1 have announced the signing of their former support as coach for the 2025 season.
After serving as T1's (SKT back then) support for a year in the 2019 season, Mata put an end to his playing career to become a coach. He then flew to China to join
Royal Never Give Up, with whom he had also evolved as a support before. After disappointing results, the 2014 World Champion returned to Korea in 2024 with
Gen.G. He took part in the Tigers Nation's big season (as coach and substitute support), during which they finished Spring and MSI champion before losing in the Summer Split final to
Hanwha Life Esports and being eliminated from the Worlds by T1 in the semi-finals.
Mata joins the reigning world champions alongside Im "
Tom" Jae-hyeon,
who has also been made official by the team, and Kim "
kkOma" Jeong-gyun. His recruitment probably follows the
departure of Kim “Roach” Kang-hee, who has to fulfill his social service duty. Another big change for the coming year is that Mata will not be coaching ZOFGK,
as Choi "Zeus" Woo-je joins HLE and
Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon takes his place in the roster, becoming DOFGK.
