With the restructuring of the North American
League of Legends scene taking hold this season, viewers in NA are finally meeting their new regional setup. During Split 1, the eight LTA North teams compete in a double elimination bracket for four places at the Cross-Conference, where the LTAN-qualified teams will then face the four LTA South best teams. The Cross-Conference between the two regions will designate the only LTA representative at the
First Stand, a new international competitive event to be hosted in Seoul this upcoming March.
The first rounds of the Split 1 are played in the new
Fearless Bo3 format. The upper bracket final and the loser bracket final will be seeding matches for the Cross Conference and will therefore be played in BO1. This series sets itself as the opener for the first of three competitive splits, starting to pave the road to Worlds.
