This is only the third time Tryndamere Jungle has appeared in a professional LoL match in a tier-1 league
FlyQuest jungler Kacper "Inspired" Słoma has written a new page in League of Legends history, pulling out an unexpected jungle Tryndamere pick and securing a pentakill, a feat extremely rare on the champion in professional play. On top of that, he played Tryndamere in the jungle role, marking only the third time the champion has been played in that position in professional history. The last time was during the 2020 LLA Opening Split, when Victor Manuel "koughi" Yever Loyola played him for Azules Esports.
The feat came in Game 4 of FlyQuest’s 3-1 victory over Shopify Rebellion in the LTA North playoffs, a win that booked their spot in the grand final and kept them just one best-of-five away from Worlds.
A true symbol of creativity
While the choice of Tryndamere jungle raised eyebrows, it perfectly reflected FlyQuest’s identity. The Polish jungler has been spotted training him in solo queue recently. For the past two years, the team has built a reputation for Fearless Drafts, willing to break from convention and take risks that often leave their opponents unprepared.
At Worlds 2024, Inspired stunned fans — and opponents — by pulling out Nunu & Willump during their quarterfinal series against Gen.G. It was one of several off-meta picks, including Seraphine mid and Fiddlesticks jungle, that turned heads and nearly flipped expectations. Their audacity almost paid off as FlyQuest pushed Gen.G to a fifth game and almost pulled off one of the most memorable upsets in modern tournament history.
Inspired’s pentakill didn’t just win the game. It also symbolized FlyQuest’s trademark unpredictability and creativity on the Rift. With the series victory, FlyQuest continues its dominant run and enters the grand final as the favorites. But it’s Inspired’s historic pentakill that will be remembered as one of the standout moments of the season, highlighting both his individual brilliance and FlyQuest’s bold approach to the game.
