VKS recruits a new midlaner and two coaches
2025, so far, hasn't been the year Vivo Keyd Stars had hoped for. Expectations were high when the Brazilian team signed Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus, one of the LEC’s best supports, to join their team in the LTA South. But in Split 1, the team finished far from 2024’s third and second place results: they even failed to make playoffs. Split 2 went better, but placing fourth was still far from the hopes of fans and the ambitious General Manager and head coach Christopher “SeeEl” Lee. Now, VKS and SeeEl have announced a few roster changes ahead of the next split, looking to find success once again.
The first of these roster changes came in the form of a midlane replacement for VKS. Joining the team is Jeong “Mireu” Jo-bin, a Korean midlaner who, after a brief stint in the LCK, has spent several years playing on Latin American and European teams. Mireu is replacing Ronald “Kisee” Van Bao Vo, who’s played on VKS’ main squad since the start of 2025. Kisee is heading to VKS Academy, where he’ll be roleswapping from midlane to bot. Coach SeeEl said this roleswap was his suggestion, positing that Kisee has a “natural flow” in his new role.
Coaching Staff Restructure
SeeEl also announced myriad changes to the coaching staff of VKS. Henrique “Lyfaenia” Ruoso and Lucas “Luukz” Higashi, the team’s head of scouting and positional coach, respectively, are leaving the team. This change comes after the departure of coach Kenzo “Mitohara” Uehara Sampaio earlier this year. On the exiting coaches, SeeEl praised their work, but stated he aimed to “lead the team with a single direction.”
SeeEl is, however, bringing in two new coaches instead. Ben “Benvi” Moore, the Head Coach of VKS Academy, who’s also assisted with the LTA South team as a positional coach, will now move up fully to the main roster to become their assistant coach. Another VKS Academy member, Ludvig “SMILEY” Granquist, is joining the main team’s coaching staff too. This is another roleswap overseen by SeeEl: moving SMILEY from botlane player to a coaching position. SeeEl stated that SMILEY would bring much-needed “positivity,” “motivation,” and “charisma” to the team.
At the end of the announcement, SeeEl looked forward to the team’s upcoming July 1st bootcamp in Los Angeles, where Mireu will join up with the team. Over the three-week bootcamp period, Vivo Keyd Stars is looking to get used to all their new and moved-around pieces, scrim LTA North rosters, and grow to hopefully improve their results next split.
