Average viewership also dropped of 10% from LTA North 2025 Split 1
The LTA North 2025 Split 2 has come to a close, and the viewership numbers are in. This year, Riot Games combined the LLA, CBLOL, and LCS into a single region. Though they hoped to bring new life into the American League of Legends esports scene, it has not yet achieved what it was supposed to.
LTAN Split 2 was packed with interesting matches and storylines: Shopify Rebellion’s surprising underdog run, the rivalry between Cloud9 and FlyQuest throughout the split, and a finale of one of the most hyped and action-packed series NA LoL has seen in years. Still, LTA North’s Split 2 viewership — 80k average viewers with a 228k peak, per Esports Charts — was a far cry from LCS Spring 2024’s 120k average viewership and 246k peak. This is also a drop of 10% from LTA North 2025 Split 1.
The new format
LTA North Split 2 began with three weeks of single-round-robin BO1 matches to determine 2 groups of 4 teams each. The group stage lasted 2 weeks, a single round-robin of Bo3s in each group, followed by cross-group qualification battles in Week 7. In these matches, the top 2 teams from each group faced off for playoffs seeding, while the bottom two teams played elimination matches. All matches were Bo3s.
Then, finally, the top six teams advanced to playoffs where the top four started in the upper bracket, while the 5th and 6th seeds started in the lower bracket.
Continuous trend of falling viewership
Despite the new format and the new combined region, LTA North Split 2 struggled to capture the viewership Riot Games likely hoped for. While the finals reached a higher peak than Split 1 with an insane finals series between FlyQuest and Cloud9, the average viewership is still down.

As the new Americas Region continues, the question remains: Can Riot Games turn the decline of viewership and interest around for the entire LTA?
