Only seven teams are still competing in Split 2
In a high-stakes do-or-die match in the LPL, Invictus Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix went head-to-head in an intense showdown. Both teams fought relentlessly, delivering five thrilling games filled with impressive plays. Ultimately, it was IG who prevailed, narrowly edging out FPX to eliminate them from the split. With this hard-fought victory, IG secured their spot in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, where they will face off against Weibo Gaming in the next round.
A BO5 full of suspense
IG took control early in the series, winning the opening game with a clean performance that saw only six deaths. Song "Rookie" Eui-jin shined on Azir, finishing 6/0/15 and earning Player of the Game honors as the 28 years old Korean midlaner continued to impress. FPX responded in Game 2, led by Zhao "Shad0w" Zhi-Qiang’s dominant 17/2/8 performance on Naafiri.
In Game 3, world champion Zhao "Jiejie" Li-Jie delivered a near-perfect showing on Wukong, giving IG a crucial lead. The fourth game was a close contest, with Shad0w once again standing out on Lillia. IG threw in some surprise picks—a Diana jungle and Yasuo midlane—but FPX managed to even the series, forcing a decisive fifth game.
The final game lived up to the hype, kicking off with a solo kill from Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok on his lane opponent. Later, Shad0w’s mechanical prowess on Lee Sin allowed him to take down Chen "GALA" Wei in a botlane fight, but FPX lost the subsequent team fight. IG seized the opportunity to close out the game and the series in a tense battle, eliminating FPX from the split. With the win secured, Invictus Gaming advance to the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, where they will face Weibo in the next round.
