The series between Bilibili Gaming and Invictus Gaming was postponed due to a typhoon passing over Shanghai
The third week of LPL Split 3 wrapped up with 14 best-of-threes played over seven days, featuring 13 of the 14 Chinese teams—Ninjas in Pyjamas were the only team not to play this week. Three teams came out with a perfect 2–0 record: Bilibili Gaming and Anyone's Legend from the Ascend Group, and EDward Gaming from the Nirvana Group. On the other end, LNG Esports, Weibo Gaming, and Team WE lost both of their series. The matchup between BLG and Invictus Gaming, originally scheduled for July 30, was postponed to August 28 due to a typhoon passing over Shanghai, where most LPL matches are held.
The week kicked off with a major clash between the Split 1 champions, Top Esports and JD Gaming—a series decisively won by TES, who remain at the top of the Ascend Group standings. On Tuesday, July 29, Ma "iyy" Chen-Shuo played his final series as FPX’s jungler, helping secure a valuable win against Invictus Gaming, who are still adjusting to the arrival of new jungler Yan "Wei" Yang-Wei. Wednesday featured just one series, where Anyone’s Legend finally picked up their first win of the split after two losses in Week 2 to Weibo and BLG.
BLG and Shad0w on honeymoon
The next day, both TES and BLG solidified their place at the top of the Ascend Group with wins over Team WE and Weibo respectively—marking a third consecutive victory for Zhao "Shad0w" Zhi-Qiang, who seems to be thriving in his honeymoon phase with BLG. On Friday, JDG bounced back with a win over FPX, despite a strong showing from Cai "milkyway" Zi-Jun who made his comeback on Kindred. Meanwhile, IG locked in third place after defeating a Weibo squad that continues to struggle despite the return of Liu "Crisp" Qing-Song.
Heading into the weekend, AL clean swept JDG, while Ultra Prime earned their first win in the Nirvana Group by defeating LNG, who remain winless at 0–5 despite promoting AD Carry Yu "fishone" Yi. To close out the week, EDward Gaming picked up their fifth straight win by taking down LNG, and BLG followed with their fourth in a row, dominating both solo lanes through Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin and Zhuo "Knight" Ding, while TES lacked proactivity. As of now, two teams remain undefeated—BLG and EDG—while two others, LNG and Team WE, are still winless in this LPL split.
