LR has won its three last series 3-0
If there’s one team to watch in the NLC, it’s Los Ratones. The team continues its incredible run in the lower bracket and just secured a spot in the Playoffs Grand Final of the Spring Split after a dominant 3-0 sweep against The Ruddy Sack in front of a Danish crowd at K.B. Hallen with a 4,500 people capacity.
They also qualify for the EMEA Masters and are guaranteed a chance to defend their Winter title. They will aim for their second title in as many splits in the league since their arrival at the beginning of the year. Marc "Caedrel" Lamont's team is still seen as a favorite entering the finals despite NORD Esports being the only team to beat them in NLC this year.
Third finals for the Rats
The club is living up to its ambitions so far, having already claimed the highest honor at the ERL level by winning both their domestic league and the EMEA Masters final in Winter. They're now reaching their second NLC final in as many splits and will face off against NORD — the only team that managed to beat them in the league, during a BO3 clash a few weeks ago, earlier in the playoff bracket. Los Ratones were surprisingly defeated 0-2 by Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski’s squad.
But since that loss, the Rats have once again turned into a juggernaut. As if their pride had been wounded, they haven’t dropped a single game in the three BO5 series they’ve played since. They crushed Venomcrest Esports, Verdant, and now The Ruddy Sack, all 3-0, leaving no doubt about their form. Against Ruddy Sack, they even built up a +20k gold lead in Game 1 — a symbol of their unprecedented dominance in the league.
Heading into Sunday’s final at 11 a.m., they’re seen as the favorites, thanks to the strength of their roster on paper and their huge momentum. On top of that, they’ll likely enjoy support from the Copenhagen crowd, who’ll get the rare chance to see Martin "Rekkles" Larsson play a final in front of a live audience. Now it’s up to NORD to prove their spot in the final is no fluke — and this rematch of the Winter Split final won’t have the same outcome.
