G2, MKOI and Fnatic featured in the Team of the Week
As the LEC Spring Split nears its conclusion with Week 5 behind us, Fnatic made a strong statement by taking down both Team BDS and Team Heretics. Karmine Corp picked up a deserved win against Rogue, while G2 Esports bounced back with a solid performance versus Team Vitality. BDS, meanwhile, continued to struggle—falling to GIANTX as well—and now seem likely to miss out on playoffs. To close out the week, Movistar KOI secured a win against SK Gaming.
The Sheep Esports' LEC Team of the Week features Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik in the toplane, Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan in the jungle, Joseph Joon "Jojopyun" Pyun in midlane, with Elias "Upset" Lipp and Álvaro "Alvaro" Fernández del Amo joining forces again in the botlane. Upset delivered an outstanding performance this week, earning himself the title of Most Valuable Player.
Top: BrokenBlade
After three consecutive losses — including two in front of a large crowd at the Madrid Roadshow — G2 are back on track with a dominant 2-0 against Vitality. As has often been the case this year, their wins were driven by the topside. BrokenBlade played a key role in his team’s success, first with a standout performance on Sion, finishing the game with the highest damage dealt. In Game 2, he locked in his comfort pick Jax and even secured a stylish solo kill on his lane opponent, Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan — a highly anticipated duel between the two Turkish toplaners.
Jungle: SkewMond
The second G2 player to make our TOTW is their jungler — and MVP of the series — who delivered a flawless performance, quite literally, as he didn’t die once across both games. In Game 1, the French rookie dominated on Vi, participating in 16 of his team’s 19 kills and ending the game with nearly a 6,000 gold lead over his counterpart. Game 2 was slightly quieter on the activity front, but SkewMond once again stayed deathless. The G2 topside paved the way for a clean win that puts the team back on track in the race for playoffs and a strong seeding by week’s end.
Mid: Jojopyun
Movistar KOI delivered a one-sided win over SK Gaming, thanks in large part to a standout showing from Jojopyun, who completely dominated his lane. The Canadian midlaner continues to prove why KOI brought him over from North America, looking far sharper than he did in Winter. He opened the series with a proactive Taliyah performance, constantly setting up plays for his team, then followed it up with solid scaling on Viktor in Game 2. KOI now sit third in the LEC standings and are officially locked in for playoffs — the question remains whether they can contend with the league’s top contenders.
ADC: Upset (MVP)
Third consecutive appearance — and fourth overall this split — for Upset, who has firmly established himself as Fnatic’s best player and arguably the top performer in the LEC right now. His week started with a chaotic match against BDS where, despite a shaky Kai’Sa game, he still helped secure the win. He followed up with a more controlled showing on Kalista, delivering a stronger performance overall. Against Heretics, Upset was untouchable — quite literally — finishing the series deathless with a combined score of 16/0/9 on Kai’Sa and Ezreal. The German AD carry is on fire this split and shows no signs of slowing down as he chases his first LEC title.
Support: Alvaro
Once again, it’s the Upset-Alvaro duo that secures a spot in our Team of the Week — and it’s well deserved, as both players continue to perform at an exceptional level. Alvaro stood out in particular, finishing the first game against SK with 100% kill participation on Rakan, where his clean and well-timed engages were key to KOI’s victory. He followed it up with another strong showing on Rell, offering great setup and frontline that allowed David "Supa" Martínez García to fully pop off on Zeri. Week after week, the Spanish support proves to be one of KOI’s most consistent players and remains a rock-solid presence in the LEC support pool.
