Doran was named MVP of the Telecom War
T1 wins the Telecom War against KT Rolster and qualifies for the final LCK qualifier match for MSI. They will face Hanwha Life Esports in a decisive best-of-five to determine Korea’s Seed 2 for Vancouver. For KT, their journey ends here after defeating Dplus KIA and Nongshim RedForce. KT put in a strong performance and made a great comeback following a difficult start to the regular season.
Doran delivered a strong best-of series
The first game initially favored KT. Despite T1 holding a significant gold lead, their damage output was underwhelming. Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong’s Corki struggled to make an impact, and Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s Viktor was largely powerless. T1 bet on scaling, but KT’s botlane duo of Kalista and Neeko made clutch engages that secured them the first win in this best-of-five. However, T1 quickly bounced back. Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun led several fights with his Nocturne ultimate, and the team followed up effectively to equalize and take control.
In Game 3, T1’s botlane became the key to victory. Gumayusi on Lucian dealt over 47,000 damage, while Ryu “Keria” Min-seok once again showcased why he’s arguably the world’s best Bard player, with a Worlds skin well deserved. The final game was tighter, with KT timing objectives well and nearly securing the Atakan until Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon’s Camille stole it and escaped. Shortly after, Keria secured Baron Nashor thanks to the Spellbook rune granting Smite, allowing T1 to close out the game and win the series.
One last battle
Only one best-of-five remains in the LCK, taking place Sunday at 8 AM CET between T1 and Hanwha Life Esports. The winner will secure the second MSI qualifying spot and join Gen.G—who recently defeated HLE—in Vancouver. As a reminder, both Korean seeds will start directly in the MSI main stage thanks to HLE’s victory at First Stand.
