Kyeahoo was DRX’s starting midlaner in the LCK throughout 2024
For their match on Thursday, May 29, DRX have decided to start Kang "kyeahoo" Ye-hoo, their 19-year-old academy midlaner who already held the midlane position for the team in last year's LCK season. He will take the place of Son "Ucal" Woo-hyeon. DRX continue their roster rotations after recently promoting AD Carry Trần "LazyFeel" Bảo Minh in place of Park "Teddy" Jin-seong.

DRX are currently second-to-last in the LCK standings and are already out of contention for the Road to MSI. They're locked into the Rise Group for the Summer Split — the group reserved for the lowest-ranked teams this split. Like many bottom-table teams, DRX are using these final matches to experiment ahead of summer, testing which roster might be the most competitive moving forward. A similar approach was taken by BNK FearX, who recently fielded Yoo "Daystar" Ji-myeong in the midlane.
Ucal’s split hasn’t gone well overall, with most of his stats falling into the red. The only exception is farming — he ranks 4th among LCK midlaners in CS per minute (9.01). But in nearly every other metric, including gold per minute, damage per gold, and DPM, he sits near the bottom of the league. His numbers reflect DRX’s split as a whole: underwhelming and below expectations.

Things have looked much better for Kyeahoo in LCK CL. DRX Challengers are currently second in the standings, just behind KT Rolster Challengers, and the young midlaner has been a key factor in their success. His most played champion is Azir, with 10 games and a 70% win rate. He’s also shown a wide champion pool, having played 12 different champions this split, with a playstyle focused on AP mages.
