Gen.G's win marks their 18th straight LCK series victory over Dplus KIA
The LCK weekend kicked off with a predictable win from Gen.G over Dplus KIA, keeping their undefeated streak alive after ten best-of-threes this split. At the other end of the standings, DRX picked up a second consecutive victory with a win against BNK FearX, showing signs of recovery since Trần "LazyFeel" Bảo Minh joined the LCK roster. Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon and Son "Ucal" Woo-hyeon were named MVPs of their respective series.
Gen.G, the unbreakable wall
Another series, another win for Gen.G, who remain unstoppable. Today’s match was part of the LCK Roadshow at the Suwon Convention Center, played in front of a larger crowd than usual compared to LoL Park. DK, on the other hand, continue to struggle — this loss marks their fourth in a row, dropping them to a 5-5 record and fifth place in the standings.
Game 1 was tightly contested, with both teams neck-and-neck in gold until a turning point around the 25-minute mark. A midlane fight swung heavily in Gen.G’s favor, led by Chovy’s Taliyah and capitalized on by Canyon’s Naafiri. Game 2 was more one-sided, as Gen.G took control early in the mid game and never let go. Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk delivered a standout performance on Kai’Sa, ending the game with an 8/1/7 scoreline. Gen.G kick off the second round robin in dominant fashion, taking down a top-tier opponent with confidence.
A breath of fresh air
A second consecutive win for DRX, who seem to be in much better shape since LazyFeel’s promotion to the LCK. Now sitting 8th with a 3-7 record, they remain hopeful for a potential playoff run. Game 1 started with heavy DRX dominance, largely thanks to Lee "Rich" Jae-won and Bae "Sponge" Young-jun. However, FearX managed to swing the gold lead by over 6,000 in just a few minutes—only to throw it all away in a disastrous jungle fight that handed the game back to DRX.
In Game 2, FearX came out ahead in the early game, but DRX held strong once again. LazyFeel’s Ezreal proved decisive, dishing out enough damage to eventually break through FearX’s defenses and secure the series. With momentum on their side, DRX are showing signs of life in the tightly contested bottom half of the standings.
Tomorrow, as was the case this morning, the LCK Roadshow continues—this time with a Telecom War between T1 and KT Rolster. Later in the day, DN Freecs will face off against OKSavingsBank BRION in a lower-table clash.
