DK and KT will play a tiebreaker next Wednesday, with the winner securing a spot in the Legends Group for the Summer Split
The LCK regular season wraps up, but not completely. To kick off the day, Hanwha Life Esports took down BNK FearX in a best-of-three with no impact on the standings. Then, Dplus KIA managed to beat Nongshim RedForce, but dropped a game in the process, forcing a tiebreaker against KT Rolster to decide who advances to the Legends Group for the Summer Split.
Zeus strikes with lightning
HLE thoroughly dominated FearX in this series. Although the matches had little impact on the standings, they provided valuable experience for FearX’s young roster. Hanwha’s topside controlled the first game, with Choi "Zeus" Woo-je on Sion and Han "Peanut" Wang-ho picking the meta jungle champion, Trundle. In the second game, Zeus was once again the key player, finishing 12/2/11 with over 31,000 damage on Gwen and earning a well-deserved MVP as the reigning world champion.
Everything will be decided on Wednesday
DK managed to secure a 2-1 series win over Nongshim. This result forces them into a tiebreaker against KT to determine who will finish fifth in the regular season — the last spot to qualify for the Legends Group in the Summer Split. The tiebreaker will take place next Wednesday starting at 9 AM CET.
It all started like a clean 2-0 for DK. They convincingly took Game 1 thanks to a strong botlane performance and a standout showing from Heo "ShowMaker" Su, who topped the damage charts and had 20 out of 23 kill participation on Taliyah. Game 2 was also going DK’s way, but Jung "Jiwoo" Ji-woo and especially Son "Lehends" Si-woo on Morgana turned things around. With some bold plays, NS managed to tie the series and push it to a Game 3, to the delight of Jeong "Peter" Yoon-su on co-stream.
In the decider, DK’s carries stepped up. ShowMaker finished 7/0/13 on Ahri, while Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram went 9/2/11, leading clean teamfights. Jiwoo’s Nilah pick didn’t pay off, and NS couldn’t keep up. DK closed out the series and locked in a tiebreaker against KT —a final match that will decide who joins the Legends Group in Summer.
