KeSPA Approves 31 Agents
On September 12, 2025, the LCK and the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) officially unveiled the list of 31 accredited agents for the 2025–2026 period. This program, first introduced in 2022, was designed to regulate and, above all, professionalize the representation of League of Legends players and coaches in South Korea. Its main purpose is to ensure that contract and salary negotiations are carried out transparently and in full compliance with league regulations, regardless of who is sitting at the table.
Among the accredited agents this year, 25 are newly certified, while 6 had already received accreditation in previous editions. Notably, 5 of them are close relatives of star players in the LCK. These include family members of Ko “SIRIUSS” Kun (Gen.G Global Academy), Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu (Gen.G Esports), Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok (T1), Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung (T1), and Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon (Gen.G Esports).
Changes to the recruitment process
Unlike in past years, the 2025 accreditation process followed a two-step format: a qualification test held in May, followed by a written exam on August 11. The assessment covered seven different areas, including contract law, sports ethics, and LCK regulations, in order to evaluate both the candidates’ knowledge and their ability to comply with official standards. According to KeSPA, out of 48 applicants, only 20 successfully earned their certification, which represents a pass rate of just 42 percent. Accredited agents are allowed to operate for up to two years, with the possibility of extending their licence for one additional year upon payment of an annual fee.
At the same time, KeSPA announced the creation of a new reporting service for irregularities, tasked with collecting complaints about illegal or unethical practices. This includes activity by unlicensed agents, hidden contract agreements, or tampering cases. The initiative reflects a broader effort to strengthen transparency and reinforce the protection of players, teams, and coaching staff, in line with measures that the LCK has already been implementing over the past few years.
