It is the first time the competition is officially broadcasted abroad
Disney+ will now stream the 2025 League of Legends KeSPA Cup knockout stage in the United States, following an announcement from Cloud9 earlier this Thursday. The competition’s broadcast rights, previously limited to eleven Asia-Pacific countries, are now expanding to international audiences—though availability remains exclusive to the US for now, with Canada excluded from the deal.
After finishing its group stage earlier this week, the KeSPA Cup now heads into its decisive knockout phase, running from December 11 to 14. Four teams remain in contention: T1, Hanwha Life Esports, Dplus KIA, and Nongshim RedForce, each having topped their respective groups in the opening stage, except NS which had to go through the Last Chance Qualifier and eliminate Cloud9 from the competition.
Three BO3s and three BO5s remain
Indeed, the two invited LCS representatives, Team Liquid and Cloud9, have already been eliminated, bringing an end to their short but promising participation. For both North American teams, the event served as a first on-stage test for their 2026 rosters against top-tier international opponents. While TL fell hard to T1 and NS in the group phase, C9 shone against DN Freecs, BNK FEARX and even defeated Gen.G (who were playing without Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk and Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon currently on mandatory military service during the offseason), sending nothing but good signs ahead of the 2026 LCS season.
With the entire knockout stage still to be played, a total of six matches remain—three best-of-threes and three best-of-fives—featuring the strongest LCK teams and promising exciting clashes. Notably, all four remaining teams are competing with their main rosters, which is unusual for the KeSPA Cup. However, this year carries special significance for Korean players, as participation in the tournament is mandatory to be eligible for the 2026 Asian Games.
The action resumes this Thursday with a thrilling matchup between T1 and Hanwha Life Esports, a must-watch given the recent arrivals of Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyung and Seo "Kanavi" Jin-hyeok at HLE, as well as Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan taking over the ADC role for the reigning three-time world champions. As a bonus, Dplus KIA and Nongshim RedForce will face each other, while the losers of each BO3 will later meet in an elimination match that same day. All the remaining matches will be best of fives, available live or on demand via Disney+ in the US.
