Vladi gave his thoughts on Fnatic's elimination in his Twitch chat
Vladimiros "Vladi" Kourtidis, midlaner for Karmine Corp, shared his thoughts on Fnatic in Twitch chat Friday, days after KC defeated the European organization 3-0. While he achnowledged the team was struggling, he didn't agree with the specifics of the criticisms he'd seen levied against specific players on the roster following the loss.
"I saw everyone flaming FNC after they lost," Vladi wrote, "[but] people don't understand that sometimes, [it's about how you perform] on the day. There are literally — minimum — 5 teams that can win the LEC right now."
Fnatic in a tough spot
He also addressed the fan meeting held by Fnatic Head Coach Fabian "GrabbZ" Lohmann, which he said "made sense," Vladi disagreed with community's sentiment on specific players. After the loss, fans centered significant blame on toplaner Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz Jiménez and jungler Iván "Razork" Martín Díaz, who Vladi saw as solid performers for the team.
"Oscar was literally the most consistent FNC Player in our series," he argued, "and Razork has been good the whole split besides our series." Despite consistent showings, both were heavily criticized — likely a symptom of long-term frustrations from a fanbase hungry for results.
In Vladi's eyes, Fnatic has one key issue: an unchanging, one-dimensional approach to the game. "Before going into the series, we already knew where Razork was the whole game — cause they only have one playstyle." he said. Without the ability to adapt mid-series, Fnatic was quickly dismantled by the reigning LEC champions.
Eyes on MSI for KC
Now, Karmine Corp sets its sights on MSI, hoping to join G2 Esports as the LEC’s first seed. With two best-of-fives between them and the title, the organization could claim its second LEC championship — a run that begins tomorrow with a rematch against Movistar KOI, the very team that sent them to the lower bracket.
