Jezu competed at the highest level in both the LFL and LEC for six consecutive years, representing Misfits, SK Gaming, Team GO, and Galions
In a post on his X account, French AD Carry Jean "Jezu" Massol announced his retirement from professional League of Legends at the age of 24, after six years competing at the highest level in France and Europe. Throughout his career, he played for only a few teams: going pro with Misfits Premier in the LFL, then joining SK Gaming in the LEC, before moving to Team GO, now known as Galions. He won the LFL 2020 Finals with Misfits and lifted the Coupe de France trophy in 2023 with GO.
Jezu began his career in the French amateur scene, with Omerix, before joining Misfits Premier in the LFL ahead of the 2020 Spring Split, where he finished in third place. That same year, he made his first EMEA Masters appearance in Summer, where Misfits were eliminated in the quarterfinals by AGO Rogue. He went on to succeed on the LFL podium once again, claiming the LFL 2020 Finals title by defeating LDLC OL and then GamersOrigin in back-to-back clean sweeps, alongside the likes of Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé and Lucas "SAKEN" Fayard. His standout year quickly drew the attention of LEC teams, and it was SK Gaming that secured the services of the young French ADC.
Two difficult years in the LEC
Jezu would spend two full years with the German organization in the LEC, but success proved elusive. A 6th-place finish in Spring 2021 was followed by a 9th place in Summer, then back-to-back 8th-place finishes in 2022. Unable to truly break through at the top level of European competition, Jezu moved on to what would ultimately be the final chapter of his career: Team GO.
Back in the LFL, Jezu rediscovered his form. He finished second in Spring 2023 and reached the quarterfinals of the EMEA Masters. That summer, GO again made it to the LFL podium and made a deep EMEA Masters run, narrowly falling 3–2 to Karmine Corp in the semifinals. They capped off the year with a Coupe de France title, defeating Team du Sud 3–1 in the final. That GO roster left a strong impression on the French scene, with Onurcan "Ragner" Aslan in the toplane, Linas "Lyncas" Nauncikas in the jungle, Loïc "Toucouille" Dubois in mid, and the botlane duo of Jezu and Kamil "kamilius" Košťál. They were arguably just one step away from a title.
Team GO's Franchise player
The 2024 season proved more difficult. Jezu was the only returning player from the previous lineup. Despite this, GO managed to reach the EMEA Masters semifinals once more in Summer, this time falling to Vitality.Bee. The organization later rebranded to Galions for 2025, and Ragner returned to the toplane, joined by an ambitious lineup including Théo "Zoelys" Le Scornec in the botlane. But the roster never truly found its footing. As previously reported by Sheep Esports, Franciszek “HARPOON” Gryszkiewicz will replace Jezu. Initially announced as a temporary break, the French ADC has now confirmed that he is officially retiring from professional play.
