Meiko is expected to take a break for the split 1, which would therefore be played by Jwei
Invictus Gaming's roster is set for 2026. A few departures, more arrivals, and a core that remains mostly intact. The lineup should look like this: Lim “Soboro” Seong-min in the toplane, Yan “Wei” Yang-Wei in the jungle, Song “Rookie” Eui-jin in mid, Ying “Photic” Qi-Shen as AD carry, and Sun “Jwei” Jun-Wei alongside Tian “Meiko” Ye in the support role.
For the coaching staff, Yang "Daeny" Dae-in has joined Bilibili Gaming. The vacant Head Coach position will be filled by his assistant, Won “Mafa” Sang-yeon, who has been promoted. He will be joined by Lee “KaKAO” Byung-kwon, arriving from Bilibili Gaming. The former jungler will be starting only his second split as a coach, his first being the 2025 Summer Split with BLG.
iG’s offseason has been quite turbulent, but only wrapped up very recently. On the departures side, let’s start with Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok — even if it’s not exactly a departure. iG announced that the Korean toplaner has decided to take a break for the 2026 season. The second exit comes in the botlane with Chen “GALA” Wei, who has joined JD Gaming.
Three new arrivals
On the arrivals side, and to replace TheShy, another Korean toplaner is heading to China: Soboro, coming from BNK FearX Youth. He played four Bo3s in the LCK and, more importantly, won the LCK CL title this year. In the AD carry role, Photic will have the difficult task of stepping into the shoes left by GALA. He hasn’t played a competitive game since late March with LNG Esports — and, ironically, his last match was against iG.
Photic spent two years as Rookie’s teammate — first with Victory Five in 2022, then with Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2024. This will be the year for him to finally prove he can compete at a high LPL level. At 23, he’s entering his fifth year at the top of Chinese League of Legends, he already has seven pentakills in his career, each one on a different champion.
How high do you think this iG roster can place?
Finally, to accompany him in the botlane — and although nothing is fully set in stone — Meiko is expected to take a break for the first split, as he mentioned on stream. The team therefore signed a support with immense talent: Jwei. Support for FunPlus Phoenix in 2025, he delivered an undeniably impressive level of play despite the team’s occasional dysfunctions.
He was a rock-solid performer and brought a level of creativity that added a refreshing spark to the LPL. When Meiko returns, the two are expected to share the role. A lighter workload on the shoulders of the 2021 World Champion should allow him to perform even better, just as he previously mentioned.
Major contract extensions
Finally, three players will remain with the team. Wei, who joined to replace Zhao “Jiejie” Li-Jie, has extended his contract through 2026 after a strong Summer Split, though his best-of series at Worlds against T1 fell short of expectations. The same goes for Meiko, who has also extended and is expected to return for the Spring Split. In the midlane, Rookie has extended his contract until the end of 2027 — by then he’ll be 30, a true legend of the game, the LPL, and iG.

This roster therefore appears to have slightly downgraded compared to last year. The departure of TheShy, a reliable presence in the toplane, has been filled by a rookie about whom little is known. In the AD carry role, GALA was often the most important player on the team, delivering an exceptionally high level throughout the year. It will be a real challenge for Photic to make iG fans forget him.
