G2H guaranteed a top-six finish, securing playoff qualification
G2 Hel continues to represent the women’s League of Legends scene with distinction. Just a month ago, Rym "rym" Salloum and her teammates made history by qualifying for Split 3 of the Liga Nexo, Spain’s second division. With that achievement, G2H became the first all-female team to reach an ERL2 through direct qualification—earning their place on merit—one year after being invited to compete in the NLC2. While their stint in the Northern League’s second division proved underwhelming, finishing last with two wins and sixteen losses, their Spanish campaign has yielded more promising results: this Tuesday, G2 Hel officially qualified for the Liga Nexo playoffs.
One Regular Season Match Remaining
The team secured its playoff berth by defeating Green Dolphin Gaming on Tuesday. With one match remaining in the regular season, G2 Hel currently occupies the sixth and final playoff-qualifying position, holding a two-win lead over both Gaming Barcelona and Monta Club. Their qualification is now mathematically guaranteed, and they are set to play their final match this Friday at 8 p.m. CET—against Monta Club. However, G2H can no longer finish in the top two, meaning they will begin their playoff campaign from the first round (as the top two seeds automatically advance to the second round).
G2 Hel has been competing in open tournaments within the Spanish circuit since the beginning of the year, in anticipation of a potential Game Changers league entry. The announcement of a women’s circuit regulated by Riot Games remains pending, even as the first major competition for the WNB scene draws near. The 2025 edition of the Equal Esports Cup is set to begin on July 1, and G2 Hel—last year’s finalists—are among the invited teams. This tournament may also serve as a qualifier for the Game Changers series... for which G2H is expected to receive an invitation regardless. The EEC final will be played on LAN at Gamescom, held from August 20 to 24 in Cologne.
