G2 retains its entire roster which broke the Worlds quarterfinals curse and won Summer split in LEC
G2 Esports will head into the 2026 League of Legends season with their entire roster intact, maintaining the lineup built one year ago. After a 2025 campaign that saw the team steadily scale and reaffirm their supremacy, the reigning kings of Europe are poised for yet another season atop the LEC hierarchy.
Led by Rasmus "Caps" Winther, the most decorated European player in history and the undeniable face of G2’s success both domestically and internationally, the Samurai remain the benchmark for consistency in Europe. This past year, they reached all three split's finals—winning Summer in convincing fashion after outclassing Movistar KOI—further cementing their place as Europe’s standard-setters by lifting their 17th trophy in the league.
Backed by strong performances
Romain Bigeard often says it in his interviews, but what characterizes the strength of their collective is first being able to count on strong individualities. Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik and Steven "Hans Sama" Liv, who are entering their fifth and fourth year with the club respectively, are among the players with the best statistics in the league at their respective positions.
What also pushes the club to keep its five players is the face shown at Worlds 2025. The G2s together reached the quarterfinals again, a feat they had no longer accomplished since Worlds 2020, an eternity for them. They break the curse that the previous roster had suffered, and thus confirmed that the arrival of Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan and Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis at the beginning of the year was not by chance, and that they had well deserved their place at the top of Europe. SkewMond even was in the discussion to earn the Rookie of the split award this year, that has ultimately been given to Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert.
To keep the legacy intact
A year ago, General Manager Romain Bigeard emphasized G2’s philosophy: to compete with the best players in the world while fostering a culture of relentless drive and hunger. That mindset continues to define the organization today. With one of the most experienced and decorated coaching staffs in European history, G2 has built an environment rooted in structure, accountability, and ambition—key traits behind their sustained dominance.
As the 2026 season approaches, G2’s decision to preserve both its player core and staff as Dylan Falco, Rodrigo "Rodrigo" Domingues Oliveira, Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi and Ismael "Isma" Pedraza all re-signed, signals clear intent: keep building on what already works, and reinforce their status as Europe’s perennial powerhouse.
