Unicorns of Love are qualified for the EMEA Masters semifinals
It’s an incredible story for Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition — from last place in the Prime League during Winter to EMEA Masters semifinalists in Summer. The journey has been long and full of obstacles, but depending on how things unfold, USE could already be qualified for the 2026 Winter Split of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC).
As previously reported by Sheep Esports, Riot is set to launch the new 2026 Winter format with 10 LEC teams, Los Ratones, and the EMEA Masters Summer champion. However, it’s still unclear what happens if the competition is won by an academy team of an existing LEC organization — for example, Karmine Corp Blue, who are also in the semifinals. Two quarterfinals remain to be played: Los Ratones vs. Galions, and ROSSMANNCentaurs vs. Los Heretics. If LR and LH win, USE could very well be the only team eligible for promotion to the Winter Split among the four semifinalists.
Nothing was set, yet here they are
The outcome of USE's year was truly unpredictable. In the Winter Split, they finished last in the league at 2-7. Things improved slightly in the Spring, where the team ended 4-5, but having lost one more game than the Centaurs, they placed seventh — not enough to make the playoffs.
In the Summer, they finished third in the standings but didn’t accumulate enough championship points to qualify for the Season Finals. Fortunately for them, drama unfolded around CGN Esports, who were disqualified and relegated to Division 2. The German league then decided to contest the final slot between USE and Austrian Force willhaben, which USE narrowly won 3-2.
In the first round of the Season Finals, they faced E WIE EINFACH and were losing 2-0, before staging an incredible reverse sweep to secure their spot in the EMEA Masters. They then fell to the Centaurs, leaving them in fourth place — which meant a spot in the Last Chance Qualifier for the EMEA Masters.
A stunning run at the EMEA
Arriving at the EMEA LCQ, USE quickly secured their spot on the Main Stage with a 2-0 win over SPIKE Syndicate, followed by a clean sweep against GMBLERS Esports. Once in the Swiss Stage, four losses meant elimination and four wins meant qualification. USE suffered three consecutive losses to Karmine Corp Blue, Los Heretics, and Forsaken.
One BO away from elimination, they began an incredible comeback, defeating Colossal Gaming, ULF Esports, Senshi eSports, and finally Partizan Sangal, finishing 4-3 — a remarkable run. In the Round of 16, they beat GIANTX Pride, SuperLiga champions and Final Four winners, 3-2, and then Geekay Esports, three-time Arabian League champions, 3-1, to reach the semifinals.
