GALA finished the game with a 19/2/6 scoreline and 54,000 damage dealt
The first professional pentakill for Yunara was delivered by Chen "GALA" Wei, the AD Carry for Invictus Gaming, during their August 6 LPL series against Anyone's Legend—a 2-1 victory. GALA ended the game with a dominant 19/2/6 scoreline and 54,000 damage dealt to AL. In the day’s second series, Bilibili Gaming secured their fifth straight LPL win, this time against JD Gaming, who now sit at two wins and four losses in the Ascend group.
Considering only the five major leagues in the Riot Games circuit (LCK, LPL, LTA North and South, LEC, and LCP), Yunara has been played 15 times with six wins and nine losses, resulting in a relatively low win rate of 40%—though this is rising, as it was just 27% a few days ago. Players who have secured wins on the champion include Team Liquid’s Sean "Yeon" Sung, Fnatic’s Elias "Upset" Lipp, Team WE’s Kim "Taeyoon" Tae-yoon, JDG’s Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, BNK FearX’s Nam "Diable" Dae-geun, and IG’s GALA.
BLG confirms, AL struggles more
In the day’s first BO, Bilibili Gaming lost game one after a strong showing from Peyz on Yunara, who went 8/0/6 and dealt 43% of his team’s damage, literally carrying the game. In game two, BLG bounced back with a solid front-to-back draft. Zhuo "Knight" Ding on Azir dealt significant damage and kept BLG alive. The final game was dominated by toplaner Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin, who delivered a strong performance on Yorick, a familiar sight during LPL Split 2. This secured BLG’s fifth consecutive victory, remaining undefeated since the arrival of their new jungler Zhao "Shad0w" Zhi-Qiang.
The second BO saw IG clean sweep AL. In game 1, GALA delivered a pentakill on Yunara and was involved in 25 of the team’s 26 kills—a complete masterclass from the two-time Mid-Season Invitational champion. The second game was tighter, with the Split 2 champions fighting hard and making it seem like it would go to a game 3, but IG held strong. Since joining the jungle, Yan "Wei" Yang-Wei has been a great boost for the team.
