Once more, Faker is the first player to hit another milestone
Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok etched yet another milestone into his legendary career by securing his 1000th international kill during game two of the MSI 2025 upper bracket final against Gen.G. The milestone, subtle yet historic, came midway through a chaotic game that T1 ultimately secured, with Faker finishing at 6/2/22. It was an exceptionally bloody match, already boasting 43 kills in just 28 minutes, and piloting his Taliyah, Faker played a key role in helping T1 even the series at 1-1.
He is the first player in League of Legends history to ever reach this milestone, a record built across twelve years of international events. That journey began all the way back at Worlds 2013, where a 17-year-old Faker lifted the Summoner’s Cup in his very first year as a professional. His first international kill came that same tournament, playing Ahri against Lemondogs — marking the start of what would become the game’s most iconic career.
Beyond kills, he holds the record for the most international games played, reflecting not just brilliance but an extraordinary ability to endure on the biggest stages season after season. Even more impressively, he is also the player with the most international titles won, including five World Championships and two MSI trophies — a testament to both personal excellence and his leadership across multiple generations of T1 rosters.
Another international milestone
Throughout his entire professional career, Faker has amassed 5,283 kills across 1,516 games in all competitions, comfortably holding the #1 spot in both categories, making him the most consistent and longest-tenured player ever. Even as T1 narrowly lost the series to Gen.G 2-3, the milestone serves as a reminder: Faker’s story isn’t only about titles won, but about rewriting what excellence looks like, year after year. And though records may someday fall, the legend of the Unkillable Demon King is likely to outlast them all.
