Out of the last places?
After another season spent near the bottom of the standings, DRX are heading into a rebuilding phase. Once a perennial contender following its Worlds victory in 2022, the organization has gradually lost its status as a top LCK team and must now reconstruct its roster with more limited resources.
This season, DRX became the second team eliminated from Worlds contention and finished with the second-worst record in the league, posting just nine wins and twenty-one losses. In hopes of bouncing back, the organization is turning toward younger talent, aiming to lay the foundations for a more competitive future in the LCK.
Trust in Jiwoo?
Early in the offseason, DRX announced a wave of departures, including Park “Teddy” Jin-seong. After two seasons with the team, one of the most experienced AD carries in LCK history joined OKSavingsBank BRION. To replace him, DRX completed a deal with Nongshim RedForce that saw jungler Bae “Sponge” Young-jun move to Nongshim, while Jung “Jiwoo” Ji-woo joined DRX.
Jiwoo, who spent his entire career with Nongshim RedForce, was a starter for the main roster this season. While he struggled at times, he remains a player with clear upside and room to grow, a profile DRX is willing to bet on as part of its rebuild.
That same move also meant DRX losing Sponge, one of the few players to consistently show promise over the past two years in the LCK lineup. To fill the jungle role, DRX turned to the LCK Challengers League, signing Ha “Vincenzo” Seung-min, the Asia Masters champion with T1 Esports Academy. In addition, the team brought in Kim “Willer” Jeong-hyeon, with both junglers recently sharing playtime during the KeSPA Cup.
A new coaching staff
DRX also confirmed the departure of head coach Kim “SSONG” Sang-soo, who, like Teddy, will join BRION next season. Leading DRX’s new project will be Cho “Joker” Jae-eup, formerly the head coach of FEARX, marking another fresh chapter in his coaching career.
Elsewhere on the roster, changes are more limited, though some role consolidations will occur. Support Mun “Andil” Gwan-bin, who re-signed during this offseason, will no longer share time with Son “Pleata” Min-woo, who is moving to Nongshim Challengers. The same applies mid lane, where Son “ucal” Woo-hyeon is expected to reclaim a full-time starting spot following the departure of Kang “Kyeahoo” Yea-hoo to Karmine Corp. No changes are expected in the top lane, with Lee “Rich” Jae-won set to remain as DRX’s starting toplaner for the upcoming season.
DRX's Roster for 2026 season:
- Toplaner: Lee “Rich” Jae-won
- Jungler: Ha “Vincenzo” Seung-min
- Midlaner: Son “ucal” Woo-hyeon
- AD Carry: Jung “Jiwoo” Ji-woo
- Support: Mun “Andil” Gwan-bin
