Top Esports and Anyone’s Legend advance directly to the quarterfinals of the competition
Phase 2 of the Demacia Cup, featuring all remaining LPL teams, will begin on December 19 at 8 AM CET. Two groups of five teams have been formed: Group A will include Invictus Gaming, EDward Gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team WE, and LGD Gaming, while Group B will feature Bilibili Gaming, JD Gaming, Weibo Gaming, LNG Esports, and Oh My God.
iG and BLG have been placed in Groups A and B respectively, as the two teams that represented the LPL as its third and fourth at Worlds. As for Anyone’s Legend and Top Esports, both will start directly in the Demacia Cup quarterfinals after qualifying for the knockout stage at Worlds 2025. AL were eliminated in the quarterfinals, while TES fell in the semifinals, both to T1.
Roster Changes
For the team rosters, as is often the case, not all teams have fielded their main lineup. This allows players who went through long seasons to get some rest, while also giving the opportunity to discover new faces. Several LDL players will have the chance to test themselves against the biggest names on the Chinese scene.
Anyone’s Legend will play the competition without any of its main roster players, fielding instead their academy team, AL.Youth. On the Top Esports side, Yang “naiyou” Zi-Jian, Zi “JiaQi” Jia-Qi, and Wang “fengyue” Run-Lai will be present. The new signings, however, will have to wait for the LPL to play alongside their solo laners, Bai “369” Jia-Hao and Lin “Creme” Jian.
BLG will field an almost complete roster, with only Zhuo “Knight” Ding absent, while Park “Viper” Do-hyeon has been called up. On the iG side, the lineup is also nearly complete, with Song “Rookie” Eui-jin unavailable. JDG, meanwhile, will run their full roster, including all four of their new signings, among them Chen “GALA” Wei and Tsai “HongQ” Ming-Hong.
